Jakten på det osynliga hotet fortskrider i oförminskad takt.

Good evening Gentlemen,
After inspection today from US Department of Agriculture (USDoA) we got
a USD 1000 fine.
The reason was that there were old jams buckets standing on weather
deck (No. 9) and these was earlier cleaned up (in the dish washer) and was now
used as paint buckets.
They also found a small amount of orange peels in on of the paint
buckets and there was no lid on it, which may cause serious damage to the
environment in case a bird will take the peel and drop it somewhere ashore.

This extreme and horrifying "violation" caused a fine of USD 1000 and
most probably also regular visits from USDoA in the future in all US port
calls over a year or so.

I signed for the USD 1000, since the information the officers gave me;
that if I did'nt, this may end up with a USD 250,000 fine instead if the
Secretary of Agriculture see this violation as more serious.
Sounds more like extortion to me.

The top of the line question for today came from one of the USDoA
"Officers":
-"Captain, why did one of your crewmembers eat an orange out on open
deck?"
